We are pleased to announce we have an immediate opening for a team and service-oriented individual to fill a Concession Attendant, Seasonal Contract role through October 31, 2024, with the Calgary Tower.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Calgary Tower Management Team, you will maintain and operate a concession, facilitating the sale of prepackaged food and canned/bottled beverages (non-alcoholic and alcoholic) while providing excellent customer service and ensuring a clean and professional workspace.
As a Concession Attendant with the Calgary Tower, you will work full-time hours which can include days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Typically, this position will work between the periods of 11:30am – 8:00pm, on the mezzanine level of the Observation Deck. Candidates’ availability & flexibility will be a top consideration.
KEY DUTIES

Perform daily setup and takedown of the concession.

Accurately process concession transactions through point of sale (POS) system while ensuring a high level of customer service.

Manage cash and payment transactions securely and accurately, performing cashouts as required.

Monitor food and beverage inventory and report needs for restocking/ordering and any discrepancies.

Stock and merchandise shelves and fridges as required.

Perform daily inspections of prepackaged food products to ensure freshness.

Clean and tidy concession and seating area as required.

Ensure processes are followed to comply with all AGLC and AHS regulations.

Attend mandatory training sessions on health, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Assist supervisors and managers as required.

Provide visitors with information about the Calgary Tower and the city.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic.

ProServe Liquor Staff Training certification required. (Employer is willing to cover the cost as part of onboarding)

Basic mathematical skills for handling cash transactions.

Superior attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Experience in restaurant, or hospitality industry is an asset.

Food handling safety certification is an asset.

Successful City of Calgary Police Information/Criminal Record Check.
