Calling all fitness enthusiasts, the 802 Challenge is back for 2026! We will open our legendary stairwell each Tuesday in March from 4-7pm. Come for a leisurely climb or test your mettle with multiple laps. Come for the climb, stay for the view.

Can I buy advance tickets?

Yes, advance tickets are available here.

Can I buy walk-up tickets?

Yes, tickets are available on-site. Our ticket desk is cashless; we only accept debit and credit card payments.

How long does it take to climb the stairs?

It depends on your individual fitness level, but it usually ranges from 10-30 minutes.

​

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, all climbers are required to sign a stairwell waiver. Parents or guardians must sign waiver on behalf of climbers 17 or younger. 

​

Can I climb multiple times?

Yes, you can climb multiple times during the event, we simply ask that you exercise patience with other climbers and wait for your turn to re-enter the stairwell.

​

How old do you have to be to climb?

Climbers must be at least 8 years old, and climbers aged 17 years or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

​

Is there a changing room?

No, but there are public washrooms on the main floor of Tower Centre.

​

Are there coat racks?

Yes, there are coat racks located at the base of the stairwell during the event. The coat racks are moved to the main elevator lobby at 7:00 pm.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is ample parking available at the Calgary Tower Parking Lot.

​

Do I need to be out of the stairwell right at 7:00 pm?

No, you can take the time you need to finish your climb if you enter the stairwell by 7:00 pm.

​

Once I’m in the stairwell, can I decide to stop climbing and take the elevator down?

No, once you are in the stairwell there are no exits along the way. The only way to leave the stairwell is by finishing your climb or returning downwards.
